LOCKHART PRAISES COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS AND SUPPORTS WARINGSTOWN SCARECROW COMPETITION
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has paid tribute to local volunteers and community champions who work tirelessly to enhance Waringstown and foster pride in the village.
During a recent visit to Waringstown, Mrs Lockhart met with local resident Kenny Lyness and members of the Well Kept Waringstown team to see first-hand the work being carried out to maintain and improve the appearance of the village ahead of the upcoming Waringstown Scarecrow Competition.
Carla Lockhart MP said:
“It was a pleasure to catch up with Kenny Lyness, who continues to do such a fantastic job maintaining the wee cottage in the heart of Waringstown. The cottage has become a much-loved feature of the village and is admired by residents and visitors alike. Kenny’s dedication, hard work and attention to detail never cease to amaze, and Waringstown is all the better for it.”
“I also want to pay tribute to the Well Kept Waringstown team and, in particular, Trevor Beatty for their leadership and commitment. The work they carry out throughout the year plays a vital role in maintaining the attractive appearance of the village and creating ahhyn environment that residents can be proud of.”
“Their efforts often take place behind the scenes, but they make a real difference. The pride they have in Waringstown shines through in everything they do and they deserve enormous credit for their contribution.”
“I was delighted to learn more about the upcoming Waringstown Scarecrow Competition. Community initiatives such as this bring people together, encourage creativity and provide a fantastic opportunity for residents of all ages to get involved.”
“I would encourage everyone to keep an eye out for the scarecrows appearing across the village in the coming weeks and to support what promises to be another wonderful community event. It is yet another example of the enthusiasm, imagination and community spirit that makes Waringstown such a special place to live.”
