Speaking following his visit Carla Lockhart said:

"It was a pleasure to have Sam join me for work experience. He is a fantastic young man with a keen interest in the local community and was eager to see first-hand how my constituency office operates. Work experience is a great opportunity for students to gain insight into public service and the importance of representing and supporting local people."

As part of his day, Sam also enjoyed a tour of Brownlow Castle, kindly provided by Mr David Martin, and had the opportunity to learn more about the work of the Ancre Somme Association Charity, thanks to Lexi Davidson.

Carla Lockhart added:

"Discussing culture and heritage with younger generations is always valuable, and I want to thank both David and Lexi for taking the time to share their knowledge and experiences with Sam. A huge thanks also to Sam for the lovely cake and buns – they were very much appreciated! It is my aim to continue to encourage young people to take an interest in politics and public service and I will continue to offer work experience opportunities to help them gain practical insight into the role of an MP.”
