Strong DUP team to deliver for Banbridge

Carla Lockhart MP • April 18, 2023

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart joined with Councillor Paul Greenfield and Councillor Ian Wilson, as they submitted their nomination papers for the upcoming local Government elections on 18th May. The sitting Councillors have been selected to contest the election, with Mrs Lockhart acting as their Election Agent.

Speaking as nomination papers were submitted, Carla said:

“I am delighted that Paul and Ian are standing in this election. Both have a strong record of effective representation, and most importantly they have used their time as Councillors to deliver a range of benefits within the Banbridge and surrounding area.

This year Paul has been Lord Mayor and has fulfilled the role with a commitment and enthusiasm that has seen him engage with so many people across the area, and doing a fantastic job as an ambassador for the Banbridge area and wider ABC Council. Despite the time pressures of the office, he has continued to provide a first class constituency service to the people, and I know of many who can testify to Paul’s tireless efforts and effective representation.

Ian is also an experienced campaigner and a diligent Councillor, who since taking office has really focused on the work on the ground, on the issues that matter. Ian is very much engrained in the community and I know if re-elected, he will continue to serve with determination and a desire to deliver.

I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Paul and Ian to the electorate of Banbridge DEA. I trust they will get the support needed to be re-elected with a strong mandate to continue to deliver for Banbridge in the next Council term.”
