Lurgan DUP candidates get MPs approval

Carla Lockhart MP • April 18, 2023

Local Member of Parliament Carla Lockhart joined Lurgan DEA DUP Candidates Stephen Moutray and Peter Haire as they submitted their nomination papers ahead of the Local Government Elections on 18th May.

Encouraging support for Mr Moutray and Mr Haire, Carla Lockhart said:

“We are now just over four weeks away from polling day, and it is a privilege to join with our Lurgan DUP Candidates Peter Haire and Stephen Moutray as they submit their nomination papers ahead of the election.

Peter Haire is a new candidate but is well known within the Lurgan area, being born and bred in the area. Peter has a great interest in people and is determined to being a strong advocate for those in the Lurgan area if elected.

Stephen is a vastly experienced public representative and has a strong track record of delivery for the Lurgan and surrounding area. His experience is a great asset in the Council Chamber and I know Stephen, with your support, will continue to serve this area with great dedication in the next term.

In the last election the DUP narrowly missed out on securing two seats in Lurgan. It is my hope that this time around Unionism in Lurgan will united around our strong DUP team, and return these candidates to ABC Council. By doing so, they would join a strong DUP team, which is more and more needed when you consider the changing make-up of the Council.

I am asking people in Lurgan to rally behind Peter Haire and Stephen Moutray, and vote DUP on 18th May then transferring down the line to pro-union candidates.”
