Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart, has congratulated Knitted Knockers of Northern Ireland on the grand opening of their new premises, The Dusty Bluebell in Lurgan, and marked the charity’s incredible milestone, its 9th anniversary.

Carla Lockhart MP was among the invited guests at the celebration event, which recognised the growth and impact of the charity since its formation and the dedication of its volunteers.

Speaking following the event, Carla Lockhart said:

“Congratulations to everyone at Knitted Knockers of Northern Ireland on this wonderful achievement. It was a real honour to attend the grand opening of their beautiful new premises, The Dusty Bluebell in Lurgan, and to celebrate the charity’s 9th birthday.

Over the years, I have watched this organisation grow from strength to strength. The number of women who have been helped and supported by the group is a testament to the hard work, vision, and compassion behind it.”

The DUP MP also paid special tribute to the leadership and personal dedication of those at the heart of the charity:

“Joanne and her daughter Hope have poured their hearts into making Knitted Knockers what it is today. Their commitment and passion are clear to everyone who knows them, and their impact on so many lives has been truly remarkable.

I wish the entire team continued success as they begin this exciting new chapter in such a warm and welcoming new space. This new home will no doubt allow them to support even more women in the months and years ahead.”

Knitted Knockers of Northern Ireland provides handmade breast prostheses and support to women affected by breast cancer. The new premises in Lurgan will serve as a hub for the charity’s ongoing work and a place of comfort and connection for those it supports.
