Serve Youth 24 hour challenge gets MPs backing

Carla Lockhart MP • August 22, 2023

Local DUP representative Carla Lockhart has given her backing to a 24 hour cycling challenge by local organisation Serve Youth, based in Portadown.

Speaking after visiting the fundraiser, the Upper Bann MP said:

“Serve Youth is a remarkable organisation, headed up by two of the most genuine Christian workers you could ever meet in Phil and Sharon Hartin. Their work in the local community has helped to change lives and reach those with a message of hope.

The 24 cycle challenge is aimed at raising funds to support the work of Serve Youth in supporting those living with addiction. Sadly many within our community have become addicted to a range of substances or drugs, including alcohol, which has such a destructive impact on lives and families.

I was pleased to call in to support Phil and Sharon in this fundraiser. I am delighted that they have managed to raise in excess of their target, and I know this money will make a real difference to the lives of those in need of help.”
