Local MP Carla Lockhart has welcomed works underway to clear a site close to Malcolm Street and Queen Street in Lurgan.
Welcoming the sight of diggers undertaking the work, the DUP representative said:
“For some time I have been working with local residents and businesses in the Malcolm Road and Queen Street area of Lurgan to secure a tidy up of the unused area close to these streets. The area was unsightly and a cause of annoyance to many people.
I am delighted that the diggers are now on site, clearing the area of overgrowth. This has been warmly welcomed by those living in the area and local businesses. I will now be pressing for the ongoing upkeep of the site so we do not end up back in the same position.
I want to thank the landowner for taking this work forward. It is appreciated and I know the local community are grateful for this intervention.”
