Carla Lockhart MP Supports Macmillan Cancer Support’s Disabled Access Initiative

Carla Lockhart MP has welcomed a new initiative from Macmillan Cancer Support aimed at improving access to public toilets for people living with cancer. 

Many cancer treatments can cause changes in how the bowel or bladder function, making access to public toilets essential. However, finding suitable facilities when out and about can often be a challenge. In response, Macmillan Cancer Support has launched a free toilet card, designed to give people the confidence to request access to toilets when needed. 


Carla Lockhart MP said: “This is a simple but vital initiative that will make a real difference to those living with cancer. Many people undergoing treatment face unexpected and urgent needs for toilet facilities, and this card will help remove barriers and unnecessary stress. I encourage anyone who could benefit from this to apply for their free card.” 


The Macmillan toilet card is free to order or download, providing people with a discreet way to request toilet access in public spaces.
