MP SAYS THANK YOU

Carla Lockhart MP • April 16, 2024

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart has thanked all those who give generously to the Southern Area Hospice Big Bucket Collection 2024. Every year the Southern Area Hospice dedicate a day to hit the streets with volunteers from all walks of life to help raise funds for their Hospice services.

Speaking having received the total amount raised across Northern Ireland, including Lurgan and Banbridge where the MP personally participated Carla Lockhart said, “it is very humbling when you collect for such a worthy cause to see the number of people who give so sacrificially. With the increased cost of living and the difficulties people experience financially so many people took time to donate resulting in an overall sum of £28,704.07 having been raised across Northern Ireland, including £1705.70 in Banbridge and £593.16 in Lurgan. I always enjoy helping charities fundraise and whilst out on the streets I was able to chat to people many of whom explained their connection with the Hospice and how it was so helpful for loved ones in their hours of need.

I would like to thank the Hospice for all they do for patients and families locally and would thank everyone who took time to donate on the day.”
