Mourne Road Resurfacing Secured

Carla Lockhart MP • April 16, 2024

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has said she is delighted to have helped secure the adding of Mourne Road in the Mourneview, Grey and Hospital Estate to DFI’s Resurfacing List.

Speaking having received the confirmation Carla Lockhart MP said, “this is very welcome news and one that I have fought hard to help deliver. I have been highlighting the dire state of this road and the many other roads in the estate. Whilst I am delighted with this progress I know that it will take time for this to be delivered on the ground because of competing priorities and a very extensive resurfacing list. I will continue to champion the needs of the local community. Our roads infrastructure is in a terrible state and in need of investment. The Infrastructure Minister needs to focus on the basics, getting our roads network into significantly better state of repair and not follow vanity projects that cost a significant amount of money with low benefits. I look forward to seeing the road resurfaced.”
