MP join McClory family for fundraiser

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart has joined with local family, the McClory, at a fundraising dessert day at their home for Belfast City Hospital Renal Unit. Scott McClory, son of Mark and Carol, has suffered from kidney problems for some time and has been given the gift of live by his Dad who donated him a kidney.

Speaking after visiting the family home, Carla Lockhart said:

“Scott has been on a real journey with kidney issues which had resulted in dialysis every day prior to April when dad, Mark gave him the gift of life and became a live organ donor.

It is an amazing story and it is just wonderful to speak with the family and to also see just how well Mark and Scott are doing following their donation procedure.

Todays fundraising day at their home is in support of the amazing Belfast City Hospital Renal Unit who helped the family along this journey, through good days and more challenging days. We are blessed by so many amazing consultants, doctors and nurses in the renal unit and wider renal care in Northern Ireland and I know the McClurg family are so appreciative of the life supporting care they have received.

Certainly today was a wonderful event with plenty of food, tea and coffee and a chance for the family to meet so many people who have supported them on this journey. It was an honour to be there.”
