Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart, recently joined Banbridge High School’s Year 11 Public Services class for a morning of debate and discussion on a range of topics, from school uniforms and term times to littering, sports provision, and more.
Reflecting on the session, Carla Lockhart MP said, “It’s always a pleasure to engage with young people and hear about the issues that matter to them. Staying connected with the next generation is essential to ensure we understand and take on board their views and concerns.”
Ms Green had kindly invited Ms Lockhart to speak about her role as an MP and her journey in politics, sparking a lively exchange of ideas and questions. “It was a fantastic morning,” she noted, “with thoughtful discussions on education, sports, and community issues. The class was exemplary, and I’ve no doubt they’ll continue to excel in their studies. I even suspect we might see a few future politicians among them!”
