Lockhart Welcomes Sen Play Opening

Carla Lockhart MP • March 6, 2022

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has welcomed the opening of Sen Play in the courtyard at Brownlow House, Lurgan.

This amazing facility has been opened by local girl Leanne Gray and is designed for children and young people with additional needs. Leanne has been involved in this project over the past number of years having her own experience with a lack of facilities for children and young people with sensory needs. Whilst Carla Lockhart was an MLA in 2016 she helped secure funding via the Department for Communities after meeting with Paul Givan MLA and sharing the vision of this project.

Speaking after visiting Sen Play Carla Lockhart said, “This really is about a mummy on a mission and huge credit goes to Leanne for making this happen. I remember in 2016 when she came to Stormont and it was full of hope and anticipation. Now we have the reality. The equipment and space will be transformational for all those who use it and I have no doubt that this is the first step in a wonderful social enterprise journey.

It is a fantastic facility for children and young people with additional needs. It is one which has been lacking and I would encourage any parent who wants more information to contact Leanne via her Facebook page Sen Play. You will not be disappointed.”
