“I have always been a strong supporter and champion for greater funding support for those within the marching bands community.

Earlier this year I hosted a very successful Bands Funding Workshop, in conjunction with the Ulster-Scots Community Network. This focused on the Musical Instruments for Bands Fund from the Arts Council, and was aimed at providing key hints and tips for the bands community in the area to help them succeed with this very competitive funding scheme.

I am delighted that Upper Bann Fusiliers Flute Band has been successful in securing £10,000 from this fund. This will help the band with the purchase of new instruments, and for a band that is going from strength to strength this will be a timely boost for band members.

As always I remain here to help with any funding need, so if you belong to any band or group that could do with some funding advice, please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
