LOCKHART CONGRATULATES LOCAL RECIPIENTS RECOGNISED IN KING’S BIRTHDAY HONOURS
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has congratulated a number of local people recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List, praising their outstanding contributions to community life, healthcare, agriculture, business and support for young people.

Among those honoured were Campbell Best OBE, Maxine Chambers OBE, Evelyn Smyth MBE, Wesley Aston OBE and Maurice Geddis MBE.
Carla Lockhart MP said:
“I was absolutely delighted to see a number of individuals from Upper Bann and the surrounding area recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List. These honours reflect years of dedication, commitment and service to others, and each recipient should be immensely proud of this achievement.”
“Campbell Best’s contribution to community life in Portadown has been significant and far-reaching, while Maxine Chambers has devoted many years to supporting young people through her work with Goal Line Youth Trust and the Bluebell Trust. Their recognition is richly deserved.”
“Evelyn Smyth’s honour reflects an outstanding career dedicated to healthcare and patient support, while Wesley Aston’s contribution to agriculture and rural life has been widely recognised throughout Northern Ireland and beyond.”
“I was also delighted to see Maurice Geddis recognised for his services to innovation and entrepreneurship. Through Avondale Foods, he has played a significant role in creating employment, driving innovation and helping to establish Northern Ireland as a leader within the agri-food sector.”
“While these individuals come from different backgrounds and professions, they share a common commitment to serving others, strengthening our communities and making a positive difference in the lives of those around them.”
“Too often we can take for granted the contribution made by people who quietly and consistently go above and beyond in their chosen field. The King’s Honours provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate that service.”
“I offer my sincere congratulations to each of the recipients and thank them for everything they have done for our local communities and for Northern Ireland as a whole. These awards are thoroughly deserved and I wish them every success as they continue their important work.”
