Lockhart confident Haire can secure second DUP seat

Carla Lockhart MP • January 9, 2023

Local MP Carla Lockhart has congratulated Lurgan native Peter Haire on his selection as a DUP Candidate in the 2023 Local Government Elections, scheduled for 18th May. The new face to local politics will join experienced DUP representative Stephen Moutray on a strong DUP ticket at the polls for Lurgan DEA.

Carla Lockhart said:

“I am delighted to present such a strong DUP team to the electorate in the upcoming Council elections.

Joining Stephen Moutray will be our new DUP candidate, Peter Haire. Peter is extremely well known in Lurgan, having grown up in the town, and is from a well-known and much respected family. Peter is very much on the ground in the community and has a great interest in the needs of people and the wider community.

For many years Peter has been an active volunteer in a range of clubs and groups, and has made a very positive impact on his community. I have absolutely no doubt that he brings with him a passion to deliver more for the area, and to be a positive and articulate voice for the people of Lurgan.

This is a team with great experience and enthusiasm to stand up for Lurgan, and drive forward positive change in the local community. I wholeheartedly endorse both Stephen and Peter as candidates, and look forward to canvassing with them during the campaign.”
