DUP MP Secures Repairs For Key Route To Waringstown
Carla Lockhart MP • May 14, 2024
DUP MP Carla Lockhart welcomed progress on the road repair between Lurgan and Waringstown. After fielding concerns from constituents about a significant dip in the road, Carla (alongside local DUP councillors Mark Baxer, Tim McCelland and Paul Rankin), facilitated action by the Department for Infrastructure (DFI), which has now assessed the issue and have initiated plans for repair.

Carla Lockhart remarked, "I'm delighted with the response to improve this road and to remove the dip. Maintaining our roads ensures community safety, and I will keep the public informed as repairs proceed."

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has called on the Government to immediately halt plans for a new £10 million clinical trial that would see children, potentially as young as eleven, once again prescribed puberty blockers. The MP has voiced strong concerns about the ethics, safety and necessity of the trial, and has joined colleagues in signing a letter led by Rupert Lowe MP urging ministers to stop it.
