The renovation of the headquarters represents one of the most substantial and significant projects ever undertaken by the Imperial Grand Black Chapter of the British Commonwealth. This space now serves as a center for the Institution to uphold the Reformed Faith and enhance its Christian and charitable outreach to communities.
During the visit, the Upper Bann MP explored the “Leaders’ Legacy” exhibition, which celebrates the lives of past Sovereign Grand Masters, including a reflection on the life and legacy of Sir Norman Stronge. Sir Norman, a hero of the Somme and a senior Unionist politician who served for 23 years as Speaker of the House of Commons of Northern Ireland, was murdered in January 1981 by the IRA.
The DUP MP commented, "It is crucial we remember the contributions and sacrifices of individuals like Sir Norman Stronge and his son James, who both paid the ultimate sacrifice. Their legacy continues to inspire our commitment to our heritage and faith."
The MP expressed gratitude to the Royal Black Institution for its dedication to preserving and promoting the rich cultural, heritage, and Protestant Reformed faith. This visit underscores the enduring strength and spirit of the community in Loughgall and the broader Commonwealth.
