Banbridge Job Fair

Carla Lockhart MP • February 27, 2024

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart has hailed the Banbridge Job Fair a huge success.  The MP attended to engage with businesses in attendance and the services available to help people get a job.  Over 200 jobs were available with well over 100 companies in attendance.

Speaking following the event Carla Lockhart said, “the job fair was huge success with many people streaming in to engage with the businesses in attendance.  There were businesses from many different industries including public sector, engineering, hospitality, care, retail, tourism and healthcare.  There was a very positive attitude amongst businesses who said that many good leads had been established with potential employees.

It is vital that initiatives like this are hosted and that every opportunity is created for businesses to engage with the wealth of talent that exists in the market.  It is also a helpful exercise for employees to go along and see what opportunities exist and to get help from the different support services for entering or diversifying in the labour market.

We have an exemplary pool of very capable, and dedicated people.  I would commend the local jobs and benefits office for their efforts and encourage them to continue to connect business with people.  If anyone would like the list of available positions do not hesitate to get in touch.”
