Balmoral Show a celebration of our rural way of life

Carla Lockhart MP • May 30, 2023

DUP MP Carla Lockhart has praised the organisers of the RUAS Balmoral Show for another successful showcase event for our rural way of life and world leading agri-food industry.

Speaking at the show, the DUP Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Spokesperson said:

“The Balmoral Show is one of those ‘circle the dates’ events for the calendar and it has been wonderful to see the huge crowds once again out in force to savour all the show has to offer.

Our agri-food and farming industry is obviously at the heart of what this Show is all about. We have world class livestock on show, and also a range of our innovative, world leading engineering companies who continue to invest in research and development to ensure they meet the demands of modern farming.

Across the show we also see amazing food producers who make such a huge contribution to our economy, but also make Northern Ireland a food destination for tourism. It is great to speak with so many businesses who despite the challenging climate of inflation and higher costs, are seeing growth and expanding into new markets right across the globe.

The RUAS must be commended for another fantastic family event. The work that goes into making a show happen on this scale is a year round endeavour, and it is clear that the professionalism amongst the organisers is second to none. Once again Balmoral Show has been proven to be a superb showcase event for our rural way of life and I am already looking forward to next years event!”
