Winter coat appeal highlighted by local MP

Carla Lockhart MP • October 10, 2023

DUP MP Carla Lockhart called into St John’s Parish, Lurgan, to leave off some winter coats as part of their Winter Appeal.

Commending the Parish for the initiative, the Upper Bann representative said:

“As winter is fast approaching and temperatures start to drop, it is wonderful that the folk at St John’s Parish here in Lurgan are once again hosting their Winter Coat appeal that will help keep people warm through this winter.

Sadly many people are struggling with the cost of living at the moment, and with the ongoing rise in the price of things like heating oil, it is likely to be a challenging winter for many people in our community. This initiative, whereby the church can offer winter coats to those in need, is a wonderful way to support people in our community.

My thanks go to the Parish here at St John’s for their care for the community, and indeed to all those who have supported this appeal.”
