Resurfacing of Dromore Road, Banbridge, a priority

Carla Lockhart MP • February 28, 2023

Upper Bann Member of Parliament Carla Lockhart has secured a commitment from the Department for Infrastructure that a resurfacing of Dromore Road, Banbridge, will be undertaken in the forthcoming financial year.

Welcoming the news, the DUP representative said:

“This road is in urgent need of resurfacing. On a regular basis my office is contacted by local residents and business owners in the town who quite rightly are exasperated at the condition of this road and many others throughout the area.

I have been engaging with the Department for Infrastructure for some time to secure the resurfacing of the road. Conscious that budgets are restricted, I am delighted to have now received a commitment that the road will be regarded by the Department as a priority for their resurfacing programme in the 2023/24 financial year.

This is good news for Banbridge. I will continue to engage with the Department on timescales, and also mitigation against disruption, as the scheme develops.”
