MP VISITS J29 TO PRESENT SIT OUT FUNDS

Carla Lockhart MP • March 20, 2022

DUP MP, Carla Lockhart has visited the last of the two charities she raised during her Christmas Sit-Out in Banbridge.

This week saw her distribute some of the funds raised in Banbridge to the very well known and highly regarded J29 Project. J29 is a charity spearheaded by Mr Neil Adair and his wife Sarah aimed at supporting those in need within the local community. Based at the Cinema complex in Banbridge they have superb community facilities for mums and toddlers, a community cafe and counselling services. Ms Lockhart was treated to a tour of their premises and was keen to hear more of their efforts to help those in need with family and food support.

Speaking following the visit Carla Lockhart said; “it was a real privilege to meet Neil at the J29 project hub. I was humbled by the efforts being made by Neil and the team to support people in need through practical, prayerful and counselling support. I was struck by the increase in need for particularly practical help and the efforts and support Neil gets from the local community to help get what is needed to to those in need. We spoke about the fact that no longer does poverty just affect those on benefits but also those who are working and perhaps have gotten into difficulties. Sometimes it is hard to comprehend the need that exists in within the constituency therefore I am always delighted to see people like Neil would will do all they can I support people who find themselves in that situation.

Again thank you to all those who donated to the Banbridge Sit Out appeal. Your generosity is certainly appreciated and much needed given the spiralling cost of living. I look forward to continuing to work with Neil as he supports the local community.”
