MP seeks resolution to sewer issue

Local MP Carla Lockhart has been engaging with NI Water to seek a resolution to an issue with foul smelling sewers on Mourne Road in Lurgan.
Commenting, Carla said:
“I have been contacted on a number of occasions recently in relation to a foul smell emanating from sewers in Mourne Road, which has been causing annoyance to nearby residents.
Following my engagement with NI Water, investigations have been undertaken which has identified the need for a major upgrade of the sewers in the area to be completed. This is a long term project, and will not immediately address the issue facing residents right now.
NI Water has committed to fixing the problem but only when resources permit. In the meantime I would encourage local residents to continue to report blockages to me or directly to NI Water. This will ensure the immediate issues can be addressed with urgency.”
