MP provides update on Birches Play Park

Carla Lockhart MP • April 4, 2023

DUP Member of Parliament Carla Lockhart has said the community at the Birches are moving closer to the start of works for their new play park, with a commencement of works scheduled to start this month.

The Upper Bann representative said:

“Alongside colleagues on ABC Council, I have been lobbying to secure a new play park for the Birches area for some time and I was delighted when planning approval was secured, confirming this project would go ahead.

I have now received an update confirming that works will start on site in late April 2023, with the construction of the new park due to complete in July 2023. This is a short timescale for the completion of what is a tremendous play park facility and it will be great that the local kids will have some time during the summer break to enjoy the new park.

This provision has been a priority for the DUP and we are delighted to have worked to secure this significant investment in the Birches for the benefit of local children.”
