MP hails Banbridge and Lurgan towns award

Carla Lockhart MP • March 7, 2023

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has commended all those behind the success of Lurgan and Banbridge in securing the ‘Let’s Celebrate Towns’ award, ranking them in the top eight towns in the UK.

The DUP MP said:

“These are fantastic awards and the teams behind the success of Banbridge and Lurgan are to be commended.

This is a UK wide award and certainly puts these two local towns on the map. We all know the appeal of both towns. They are well kept, have a great retail offering with a strong independent retail ethos, and have lots to offer visitors to the area. They are a great place to raise a family, and also offer lots to those later on in years.

These awards come with significant funding awards to support community activity and I know this will bring great benefits to the areas.

Well done also to ABC Council for their work in helping secure these awards. Partnership between Council and local communities and business is vital in improving our towns and villages and these awards show what is possible.”
