MP backs Kidney Care UK at fundraiser

Carla Lockhart MP • December 6, 2022

Upper Bann MP joined local Kidney Care UK Ambassadors Joanne Dobson and Andrew Cromwell on their fundraising stand at ASDA Portadown last week, to show her support for the ongoing positive work of the charity locally and nationally. Deputy Mayor Cllr Tim McClelland also joined the fundraiser to show his support.

Commenting after the visit, Carla Lockhart said:

“Joanne and Andrew both do amazing work in championing the needs of those living with kidney conditions. They are tireless in their endeavours, and it was lovely to join them both in ASDA and support this fundraising drive.

Kidney Care UK are a fantastic

organisation, and as MP I can testify to the very powerful lobbying the group engage in to ensure the Government know the issues facing kidney patients, and the need for further research into this area of healthcare. Locally, we are very fortunate to have such passionate champions as Joanne and Andrew.

It was encouraging to see so many people kindly donate to support the charity, which reflects the generous spirit of the local community. I look forward to my ongoing work with Kindey Care UK in the days ahead.”

Deputy Mayor of ABC Council, Tim McClelland, added:

“Many of us know someone who is living with a kidney condition and for many it is life altering. However thanks to the work of organisations like Kidney Care U.K., their needs are highlighted and a lot of progress has been made in terms of research.

It was a pleasure to join Joanne and Andrew here today and give my backing to their ongoing campaigning.”
