Lockhart thanks Poppy Appeal collectors

Local MP Carla Lockhart has thanked all those volunteers who assisted with the Poppy Appeal collections across Upper Bann. The DUP representative joined collectors in Portadown during the annual appeal.

The DUP representative said:

“Every year the band of Poppy Appeal collectors put in a huge amount of time and effort into raising as much money as is possible for the Royal British Legion.

This is a fantastic cause, and the money that is raised does so much good amongst our veterans community and their families. It can help with a range of support measures that can help those who have served our nation with selflessness.

I am always struck when I join with collectors that the community is so generous in supporting the Poppy Appeal. Our local Royal British Legion is to be commended for all that they do to make this fundraising drive so successful.

I look forward to hearing the totals of the local fundraising efforts and thank all those who took part, and also all those who supported this year’s appeal.”
