Lockhart: My Final Election Message To Upper Bann

Dear Residents of Upper Bann,

As we approach the upcoming general election on July 4th, I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt request for your support. It has been the privilege of my life to represent the people of Upper Bann over the past 17 years, firstly as a councillor, then at Stormont and more recently as your Member of Parliament. I have never taken any support from you for granted and I have worked hard to repay your support at every opportunity.

Over the election campaign, I have had the privilege of meeting and speaking with many of you across Upper Bann. From our large towns to our small villages, hamlets and rural roads I have been buoyed by your warm reception and honest conversations. You have been incredibly inspiring, reinforcing my commitment to working tirelessly on your behalf if elected again.

Our community is vibrant, filled with individuals and groups who care deeply about our shared future. From the young first-time voters brimming with enthusiasm to the experienced voices offering wisdom and insight, each of you has played a vital role in shaping my vision for Upper Bann. Your support, particularly from our younger generation, is crucial. Your energy and dedication to making a positive impact are truly commendable and give me great hope for our future.

In this election, my focus is clear: I am dedicated to securing Northern Ireland’s place within the United Kingdom, supporting our hardworking farmers, enhancing childcare support for families, and improving our health and social care services. These issues are not just political talking points but real commitments to ensuring that our community thrives and that our needs are met.

Securing Northern Ireland’s place within the UK is paramount by ensuring the removal of the Irish Sea Border. It is essential for our economic stability, our cultural heritage, and our national identity. I am committed to fighting for our place in the Union and ensuring that our voices are heard in Westminster.

Our farmers are the backbone of our local economy, and I will continue to advocate for policies that support their invaluable work. From securing sustainable funding to promoting innovative agricultural practices, I am dedicated to ensuring that our farming community can thrive and grow.

Supporting families with better childcare options is another key priority. By advocating for extended childcare services and enhanced support for working parents, we can help families balance their professional and personal responsibilities more effectively, ensuring that every child has the best possible start in life.

Improving health and social care services is critical. I am committed to securing increased funding, reducing waiting times, and enhancing the quality of care for all residents. Our health and well-being are the foundation of a strong and resilient community, and I will work tirelessly to ensure that our services meet the highest standards.

Your vote on July 4th is crucial in shaping the future of Upper Bann. I urge you to support me in this election. Together, we can build a community that is prosperous, united, and forward-looking. A vote for me is a vote for stability, growth, and a brighter future for all of us.

Thank you for your continued support and for the privilege of representing you. I am deeply committed to our community and to working with you to create a better future for Upper Bann. As ever I will be Speaking for you. Working for you. Delivering for you.
