Lockhart joins the fun at Portadown FC Fun Night

Local MP Carla Lockhart joined the crowds at the Portadown Football Club Community Fun Day on Tuesday evening, ahead of the team playing Ballymena United in a pre-season friendly.

Speaking after attending the event, the DUP representative said:

“Portadown Football Club are very much a community Club, and alongside a range of local partners, it was fantastic to once again see the Club host the Community Fun Night.

Shamrock Park was packed with people of all ages from the local area and beyond, enjoying the range of activities and food on offer. It was great to see so many children in attendance, which is helping to build a link between the Club and the younger generations.

These events are really a credit to the organisers and I commend the Club, Portadown YMCA, Alternatives, Rectory Community Association and Regenerate for the amount of work put into this fun evening. It is work that paid off big time.

Finally, I wish the Club well as they embark on the new season. Last season was disappointing, but I know the Club have strengthened the squad over the summer break and fans can look with optimism for the campaign ahead.”
