Local Member of Parliament Carla Lockhart has congratulated Magheralin’s Daniel Wiffen on securing a place in the Paris Olympics, with a time achieved inside the qualification mark securing his place in the pinnacle event for athletes.
The DUP representative said:
“The Olympics is the ultimate objective for any elite athlete, and I am absolutely thrilled for Daniel Wiffen from Magheralin who has swam inside the qualification time for the Paris Olympics and will be competing in that historic sporting event.
This remarkable achievement is testament to Daniel’s dedication to the sport, his discipline and of course his natural talent for swimming. It is also a tremendous endorsement of everyone who has helped coach Daniel throughout his career journey in the pool.
I wish Daniel every success for the future and know he will do us all proud in the Paris Olympics. We will all be cheering you on, Daniel!”
