Lockhart helps to paint Banbridge pink

Local DUP MP Carla Lockhart joined fundraisers on the streets of Banbridge last week as part of an Action Cancer initiative to raise awareness and support for those living with breast cancer.

Speaking after joining volunteers, the Upper Bann representative said:

“Breast cancer impacts so many lives in this area. It is vital that we continue to raise awareness of symptoms, the need for regular checks, and of course financial support to help drive on research into the causes and treatments for breast cancer.

It was great to join with a wonderful team of local volunteers at the weekend to help paint Banbridge pink for breast cancer awareness. We had plenty of craic meeting with so many supportive members of the local community who gave so generously to the appeal. My thanks also to the wonderful team at The Windsor Bakery for keeping us well fed with cream buns whilst we stood outside fundraising.

My thoughts are very much within anyone in the locality on this cancer journey. I trust that this very public show of support for those with breast cancer makes a difference to how this awful illness impacts upon people in the future. Thank you to all who gave so generously – it was greatly appreciated.”
