Lockhart: Don’t Miss Out On Your Right To Vote

Carla Lockhart MP • June 12, 2024

Carla Lockhart, the DUP candidate for Upper Bann, is continuing her campaign this week across the constituency ahead of the poll on 4th July. Lockhart stresses the importance of voter participation and reminds constituents of key deadlines.

"We are at a crucial time, and every vote in Upper Bann counts," said Carla Lockhart. "I urge all eligible residents to register to vote and consider postal or proxy voting if you are unable to vote in person on the day."

There are key deadlines coming up to secure your vote. If you are away, you can apply for a postal vote or a proxy vote. This requires a paper form to be completed; however, Carla Lockhart can offer assistance to complete this form via 02838 310088.

If you are not registered to vote, you can register online via www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. If you need assistance to register, again please contact Carla via 02838 310088.

It is also important to remember that you need photo ID. The following can be used:

  • UK, Irish or EEA driving license (photo part) (provisional accepted)
  • UK, Irish or EU passport (incl. Irish Passport Card) (EU passports are not accepted at UK Parliamentary elections)
  • Translink Half Fare SmartPass
  • Translink Senior SmartPass
  • Translink 60+ SmartPass
  • Translink War Disablement SmartPass
  • Translink Registered Blind SmartPass
  • Biometric Immigration Document
  • Electoral Identity Card

The deadline for applying for an Electoral ID card is 26th June 2024. If you require assistance applying for this, please contact Carla Lockhart on 02838 310088.

You can still use an expired ID to vote as long as the photograph is of a good enough likeness to allow polling station staff to confirm your identity.

Carla Lockhart is known for her dedication to local issues and aims to continue advocating for healthcare, education, and economic development. "Upper Bann needs strong representation, and I am committed to serving our community with dedication and integrity," she added.
