Groups urged to apply for Platinum Jubilee funding

Carla Lockhart MP • January 10, 2022

Member of Parliament for Upper Bann, Carla Lockhart, has urged community groups and other voluntary organisations to apply for grant funding from Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Council to host events to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen.

Carla Lockhart said:

“The celebration of the Platinum Jubilee will be a wonderful occasion right across the United Kingdom and Commonwealth. It is fantastic that our local Council recognise the significance of this occasion and will be providing funding to local groups to be part of the celebrations. This comes after a proposal from my party colleague Councillor Gareth Wilson.

Up to £400 is available to successful applicants and the process of application is outlined on the Council website. I would encourage local community groups, PTAs, Orange Lodges, Bands and other voluntary groups to apply to this fund. For any group that may need assistance in the application process, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be happy to offer advice.

It would be fantastic to see events in every corner of Upper Bann to mark this historic moment, and to celebrate the remarkable reign of Her Majesty The Queen and her lifetime of service to our nation.”
