Carla Lockhart, Member of Parliament for Upper Bann, has celebrated the educational excellence of Orchard Primary School, one of the newest additions to her constituency following recent boundary changes. During a visit to the school, she commended the staff and pupils for their dedication to learning and highlighted the vital role the school plays in its local community.

Located in the heart of the Orchard County, Orchard Primary School is a thriving country school that truly reflects its name. Carla was welcomed by the principal, Mrs McMillan, along with her dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, and had the pleasure of meeting some of the pupils who clearly take pride in their school.

Speaking about her visit, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“It was an absolute pleasure to visit Orchard Primary School and see the school as part of my ongoing school engagement across Upper Bann. It was great to see the dedication of Mrs McMillan and her staff, and how Orchard Primary is a school at the very heart of its community.

“Upper Bann is blessed with exceptional schools, and Orchard Primary is no exception. I look forward to working alongside the school as it continues to grow and seek additional accommodation to meet the needs of its expanding pupil numbers. This growth is a testament to the school’s success and the trust parents place in its nurturing environment.”

She continued, “Thank you to everyone at Orchard Primary for making me feel so welcome. Your passion for education and commitment to the children is inspiring. I am excited to see the school continue to flourish in the years ahead.”
