Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart was delighted to attend the launch of The Reason, the debut album from Waringstown’s Kate Weir, at Craigavon Civic Centre on Saturday night – and has encouraged others to get a copy and be truly blessed by it.

The evening was a wonderful celebration of talent, testimony and faith, as Kate shared songs from her new album alongside performances from special guests Live Issue, Kingdom Bound, Warren Smyth and Victoria Kennedy (SALT). The presence of God was felt throughout the Civic Centre, and many hearts were touched by the powerful words and spirit of worship that filled the room.

Speaking after the event, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“What an honour it was to be at the launch of Kate Weir’s debut album The Reason. It was such a special evening – filled with joy, praise, and a real sense of God’s presence.”

“I’ve known Kate since she was a little girl and even then, her voice stood out. Now, as a young woman of faith, she continues to bless everyone she sings to, not just with her beautiful voice, but with the heart behind it. This album is a reflection of who Kate is, sincere, faithful, and full of God’s love.”

“It’s been a joy to listen to the CD – it hasn’t left the car since her dad, Charlie, kindly dropped a copy in with me! The songs are uplifting, encouraging, and Christ-centred – I know many people will be blessed by them.”

Kate and the entire Weir family are well loved in the local community, and this milestone is a testament not only to her talent, but to her dedication and desire to glorify God through music.

Carla continued: “If you didn’t get along to the launch but would like a copy of The Reason, please do get in touch with me and I’ll happily pass your details on to Kate. Let’s support this wonderful young woman as she steps out in faith and shares the message God has laid on her heart through song.”
