Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart Celebrates Remarkable 102nd Birthday of Much-Loved Banbridge Resident
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has paid a heartfelt tribute to Mrs Weir of Banbridge, who has celebrated her 102nd birthday, describing her as “one of Banbridge’s finest” and a cherished figure within the local community.

Speaking after visiting Mrs Weir to mark the milestone occasion, Carla Lockhart MP said:
“It was such a joy and privilege to visit Mrs Weir as she celebrated the wonderful milestone of turning 102. She is a truly lovely, Godly lady whose faith has remained steadfast through every season of life. Over more than a century she has witnessed extraordinary change, yet her kindness, strength and quiet grace have remained constant.
She is deeply loved by her family, and it was clear to see why. She is a devoted mum, granny, great-granny and great-great-granny, and a much-valued friend to so many in the Banbridge area. To spend time with her was very special indeed.
I was delighted to bring her a small gift, a Queen Elizabeth II cameo brooch, to mark the occasion and to reflect her deep appreciation for Her late Majesty.”
Mrs Lockhart added:
“I was pleased to be joined by my colleagues Councillor Paul Greenfield and Diane Dodds MLA as we called with Mrs Weir. We all left uplifted by her warmth and by the remarkable legacy she continues to build through her family and her faith.”
