Carla Lockhart MP • January 21, 2026

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has welcomed the completion of repair works to the damaged bridge wall adjacent to 41 Tullylish Road, Gilford, following concerns raised by local residents.

After the issue was brought to her attention, Carla Lockhart MP raised the matter directly with the Department for Infrastructure. She has since received confirmation from DFI Roads Structures Section that their contractor attended the site and that all required repair works have now been completed.

The damage to the bridge wall had caused understandable concern locally, particularly in relation to road safety.

Speaking following confirmation that the works had been completed, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“I am pleased to see that repairs to the damaged bridge wall at Tullylish Road have now been completed and the area made safe once again.

“Following concerns being raised with me, I took this issue directly to the Department for Infrastructure. I welcome the confirmation from DFI Roads Structures Section that their contractor attended the site and that all necessary repair works have been carried out.

“This damage understandably caused concern within the local community, and I am glad to see it addressed. I will continue to keep a close eye on local roads and infrastructure issues and will press for timely action whenever problems are brought to my attention.”

Carla Lockhart MP encouraged residents to continue reporting local infrastructure and road safety issues so they can be pursued with the relevant authorities.
