RBL mark St Patricks Day in style

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart joined the Portadown Branch of the Royal British Legion at their annual St Patricks Day Parade in Portadown. Large crowds lined the streets to support the Legion, who were joined by St Marks Silver Band.

Carla Lockhart said:

“This is a fantastic way to mark St Patricks Day in Portadown and I would commend the Portadown Branch of the Royal British Legion for organising this parade for everyone to enjoy on St Patricks Day.

It was wonderful to see so many service men and women, ex-servicemen and cadets on parade today and the RBL bikers, and the superb St Marks Silver Band did a wonderful job of providing first class music for the parade.

This event is a tremendous example of how events can take place to celebrate this public holiday in an inclusive way and the large crowds who lined the streets to watch the parade is evidence of this.

I know I speak on behalf of all my colleagues who were in attendance in thanking the organisers for a first class event and we look forward to supporting further Portadown RBL events in future.”
