Out and About in Upper Bann

Carla Lockhart MP • September 17, 2025

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has been out and about in the constituency at the weekend, attending a series of community events and paying tribute to the hard work of local organisers and volunteers.

First stop was Clantilew Bible and Crown Defenders LOL for their very first Big Breakfast. The Lodge is working hard to improve their hall facilities and the event drew a strong crowd of supporters.

Next, she visited the Star of David Accordion Band, Carleton Street, for their Big Breakfast. The event was well attended, with a particularly strong turnout of young people, highlighting the band’s ongoing success and community support.

Later in the day,she joined the Tartaraghan Church of Ireland Vintage Rally. The event attracted huge crowds, with a superb display of vintage vehicles, live auction, and plenty of home baking including fresh scones and soda bread straight from the griddle.

Speaking after the visits, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“It is always a pleasure to be out in the community across Upper Bann, meeting people and supporting the fantastic work of local groups and organisations. Today’s events were a wonderful example of that community spirit in action.”

“From fundraising breakfasts to large-scale rallies, these events take enormous effort and commitment from volunteers. They also play a vital role in bringing people together and sustaining local facilities and organisations. I want to commend everyone involved for their hard work.”

“It is impossible to get to every event across Upper Bann, but I will always do my best to attend and support as many as possible. Well done to all who made this weekend such a success.”
