New Under Armour store at Boulevard a sign of confidence in local economy

Carla Lockhart MP • October 3, 2023

Local DUP MP Carla Lockhart has said the decision by Under Armour to open their first standalone store at The Boulevard in Banbridge is a sign of the growing confidence amongst leading retailers that the area is a good place to do business.

Speaking after the announcement, the Upper Bann representative said:

“The decision by Under Armour to open its first standalone store in Northern Ireland at The Boulevard in Banbridge is fantastic news. It will add to the already first class retail offering on site, which has improved significantly over recent years. The management team at The Boulevard must be commended for the transformation at the centre.

Of course this decision also reflects the confidence that leading retail brands clearly have in the Banbridge area as a good place to invest, and a good place to do business. The location of The Boulevard is being maximised, on the key Belfast to Dublin corridor. The catchment area within 90 minutes of the centre is huge, and clearly retailers are recognising this and exploring the Banbridge area as a base.

This new shop will be open by Christmas, and will also bring new jobs. This is a good news story and I have no doubt further names will follow that will build upon the success of The Boulevard in the future.”
