Speaking after attending the event in Parliament, the DUP representative said:
“COPD affects millions worldwide, impacting not just the individuals battling the disease but also their families and communities. It is important that Government recognise the immense challenges faced by individuals living with COPD and the importance of raising awareness about this condition.
This year's COPD Day resonates deeply with my commitment to advocating for improved care, support, and understanding for those living with COPD. Through education, early detection, and access to proper treatment, we should aim to empower individuals and healthcare providers in managing and mitigating the effects of COPD.
Government must reaffirm its commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the lives of individuals affected by COPD. We should be fostering a more supportive environment for those living with COPD, not just on World COPD Day but throughout the year.”
