Lockhart Welcomes Delivery of New Steps at Orchard Park - Loughgall

Carla Lockhart MP • February 3, 2026

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has welcomed the completion of new access steps at Orchard Park in Loughgall, describing the works as a clear example of delivery in action and a significant improvement for local residents.

Carla Lockhart MP said:

“I am delighted to see the new steps now delivered at Orchard Park. When I was elected to represent the people of Loughgall, I made a clear commitment to work hard, listen to residents and deliver real improvements on the ground, and this is a practical example of that commitment being honoured.

“We have already seen real progress in the area, including the repainting of the wall and fencing, the removal of unsafe piping, the delivery of new footpaths and now these new steps, which represent a major capital investment by the Housing Executive. The previous steps were simply not fit for purpose, so this upgrade is hugely welcome and will significantly improve safety and accessibility for residents for many years to come.

“Residents are rightly pleased to see this work completed. I have also raised the need for an additional handrail to further enhance safety, and I will continue to push for that to be delivered as part of the ongoing improvements.

“There is always more to do, and I will continue to work with residents and relevant agencies to address outstanding issues and ensure local concerns are acted upon.”
