Lockhart Praises Community Support at Luca’s Voice Fundraising Event

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has praised the generosity of the local community after attending a retro 1980s fundraising event at Windsor Bakery in support of Luca’s Voice, a charity supporting families navigating speech and communication challenges.

Carla Lockhart MP said:

“It was an absolute pleasure to attend the Windsor Bakery’s retro 80s fundraising event in support of Luca’s Voice. The atmosphere was fantastic and it was inspiring to see so many people come together to support such an important cause.

“Luca’s Voice was founded by an incredible mum, Nicola, whose own journey with her son Luca inspired her to create something meaningful to help other families. Like so many parents, Nicola found herself searching for answers, reassurance and support when Luca struggled with his speech. What began as a mum trying to help her own child has grown into a charity that now supports, educates and gives hope to families who might otherwise feel lost or alone.

“Meeting Nicola was truly inspiring. She has turned personal challenge into positive action, ensuring that other parents and children facing speech and communication difficulties know that support is available and that they are not on this journey by themselves.

“The event itself was brilliant, with retro cakes and buns, a raffle and quiz, cupcake decorating and fun activities for all the family. Every penny raised will help Luca’s Voice continue their vital work supporting children and families across our community.

“I would encourage anyone who can to take a moment to learn more about Luca’s Voice, support their work, and help spread the word. Together, we can help more children find their voice.”
