LOCKHART CONGRATULATES WEAVER’S CANCER SUPPORT GROUP ON 10TH ANNIVERSARY MILESTONE
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has paid tribute to Weaver’s Cancer Support Group as the organisation celebrated its 10th anniversary, recognising the remarkable contribution it has made to individuals and families affected by cancer across the local community.

Mrs Lockhart joined members, supporters and friends of the group at a special garden party hosted by founder Barbara Bailey in Waringstown to mark the milestone.
Speaking following the event, Carla Lockhart MP said:
“It was a privilege to join Weaver’s Cancer Support Group as it celebrated its 10th anniversary and to recognise the incredible impact the group has had on so many lives over the past decade.”
“Ten years ago, following her own cancer journey, Barbara Bailey established the group to provide support, encouragement and friendship to others facing a cancer diagnosis. I was honoured to attend that very first meeting and it has been inspiring to watch the group grow and flourish ever since.”
“Cancer can be an incredibly lonely and challenging journey. Many people face fears, worries and experiences that can be difficult to share, even with those closest to them. Through her compassion, dedication and understanding, Barbara has helped make that journey a little easier for countless individuals and families.”
“The support she has provided, and continues to provide, has made a real and lasting difference. Weaver’s Cancer Support Group stands as a testament to what can be achieved when someone turns their own experience into a source of hope, strength and comfort for others.”
“I was delighted to spend time with so many members and supporters at the anniversary celebration, to see familiar faces and to meet people whose lives have been touched by the group’s work over the years. The stories shared were a powerful reminder of the importance of community, friendship and support.”
“I want to sincerely thank Barbara for her vision, kindness and unwavering commitment over the past ten years. Her work has touched countless lives and her legacy is one that the entire community can be proud of.”
“Congratulations to Barbara and everyone involved in Weaver’s Cancer Support Group on reaching this wonderful milestone. I wish the group every success for the future as it continues its invaluable work supporting those on their cancer journey.”
