Lockhart Celebrates Restoration Of Lurgan Park Fountain
Carla Lockhart, Member of Parliament for Upper Bann, is pleased to announce that the historic Lurgan Park Fountain is once again fully operational. The fountain, which had been out of service since before COVID-19, has been restored thanks to the dedicated efforts of the local council.

Lockhart expressed her delight at the restoration following her continued lobby over the past 3 years: "We have a working, sparkling Lurgan Park Fountain. This fountain, a key feature of the park, has been a landmark in Lurgan since 1888. It’s wonderful to see it restored to its former glory."
The fountain, originally crafted in the Coalbrookdale Foundry and one of only four remaining, was erected to celebrate Queen Victoria’s 50th year on the throne. It was moved to Lurgan Park in the 1920s, where it continues to be a focal point for visitors.
Lockhart also thanked the team responsible for the restoration: "A big thanks to Russell, Don, Brian, and Frank from ABC Council for their hard work. It was a challenging task, but it was worth the wait. It is always wonderful to see our history being preserved.”
