Community at Its Best as Carla Lockhart MP Visits Groups Across Upper Bann

Carla Lockhart MP • November 19, 2025

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has praised the outstanding community spirit shown across the constituency following a busy day of engagements with local groups on Saturday.

Speaking after a full day of visits, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“Saturday was a brilliant reminder of just how strong and vibrant our community is across Upper Bann.

My first stop was Peatlands Playgroup for their fantastic coffee morning. There was a lovely atmosphere with treats, great company and some wonderful Christmas crafts created by the little ones. It was a joy to see their excitement and creativity.

Then it was over to St Mark’s for a proper big fry-up. The band does so much for our local community, and it is always important to give back and show appreciation for their continued support. As ever, the welcome was warm, and the effort put in was outstanding.

I then headed to Rubies craft afternoon with the Ladies’ Fellowship of Segoe Parish Church. Rubies is such a special group, reaching women across the church and wider community with friendship, fellowship and encouragement. Their talent was on full display with beautiful crafts, a stunning afternoon tea and a range of local traders showcasing their wares. It is always a pleasure to spend time with the wonderful folks at Segoe.

There is so much happening across the constituency at this time of year, and while it is always a challenge to get to everything, I am grateful for every opportunity to meet people and to celebrate the incredible community spirit that makes Upper Bann such a special place.”
