Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has extended her heartfelt congratulations to Carrick Primary School, Lurgan, following their remarkable success at the Families First NI Education Awards. The school was awarded Best School Team and Best Eco Team in Northern Ireland, a prestigious recognition of the school’s commitment to teamwork, innovation, and environmental leadership.

Commenting on the achievement, Mrs Lockhart said:

“I am absolutely delighted to congratulate Carrick Primary School on this incredible recognition at the Families First NI Education Awards. To win not just one, but two Northern Ireland-wide categories, Best School Team and Best Eco Team, is a testament to the hard work, dedication and spirit that runs through every aspect of the school’s life.

This recognition is richly deserved by every single member of the school community, both teaching and non-teaching staff, who work tirelessly each day to guide, support and inspire the children. Their commitment to excellence and to the holistic development of their pupils is clear to see and widely admired.

A special word of congratulations goes to Mrs McElmurray, who was named County Armagh Teacher of the Year, a truly outstanding personal accolade that reflects her dedication and professionalism.

I would also like to pay tribute to Mrs Lindsay, whose leadership at Carrick Primary has helped to create an environment where every child and staff member can thrive. Her unwavering commitment to the school and its families is exceptional, and it is clear her leadership sets the tone for the success and positive ethos seen throughout the school.”

Mrs Lockhart concluded:

“Carrick Primary School continues to set a standard for what can be achieved when a school community works together with purpose, passion and pride. This is a school that the whole of Lurgan and Northern Ireland can be proud of. Well done to all involved.”
