Carla Lockhart MP to Relaunch Updated Church Funding Directory

Carla Lockhart MP • March 11, 2026

Churches and faith-based organisations across Northern Ireland are invited to attend the relaunch of an updated Church Funding Directory, hosted by Carla Lockhart MP, at the Oxford Island Discovery Centre on Thursday 19 March at 11:00am.

Originally published in 2020, the Church Resources Booklet helped many churches and Christian organisations identify and secure funding for local projects. The resource has now been updated and expanded to include new funding opportunities and up-to-date information.

The relaunch event will give churches an opportunity to learn more about the directory and how it can support their work. Copies will be available on the day, and a funding specialist with experience in securing grants for local churches will offer practical advice and guidance.

Speaking ahead of the event, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“Churches play an incredibly important role in communities across Northern Ireland. In many places they are at the heart of community life, supporting people through pastoral care, youth work, outreach programmes and practical assistance for those in need.

However, many churches and Christian organisations find it difficult to identify suitable sources of funding or to navigate the application process. This directory has been designed to bring together a wide range of potential funding opportunities in one accessible place, helping churches understand what funding may be available and how they can apply.

I was greatly encouraged by the feedback following the original booklet in 2020, when a number of churches were able to use the information provided to secure funding for important projects within their communities.

I hope this updated directory will once again prove to be a valuable resource for churches and Christian organisations as they continue their vital work supporting communities across Northern Ireland.”

Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by 17 March by emailing carlalockhartmp.office@parliament.uk or calling 028 3831 0088.
