Carla Lockhart MP • July 30, 2024

Carla Lockhart, Member of Parliament for Upper Bann has welcomed the opening of Changing Lives NI, a new mental health and associated addiction support hub in Gilford.

Speaking after attending the opening on Saturday afternoon, Carla commented: “ it was an honour to attend the official launch of Changing Lives NI in Gilford.  This incredible community lead organisation is dedicated to making a positive difference in our community, and I am honoured to have been part of this special event.  Gilford has unfortunately been an area with a high number of death by suicide, particularly amongst young people.”

The DUP MP continued: “Changing Lives NI is a beacon of hope and support for many, offering essential services and resources to those in need. Their commitment to transforming lives and fostering a sense of community is truly inspiring. I encourage everyone to support Changing Lives NI. As a community we can help them continue their vital work and make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and families.  Their aim is to come alongside those most in need.  They are providing an open space for those suffering from mental health and addictions.  They will open for drop in sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays to start with.

I would commend those who have taken this initiative and particularly those whose lives and families have been impacted in this way.”
